I hope you don't mind Electrastar if I post a recent one of mine here??? Couldn't find a place to place it... Nope, go right ahead (sorry for the realllly late reply on this) I've got some new stuff ^_^ Martintinygirl sent me a picture via msn the other, a picture of Dave I had not seen before...Before I drooled all over my keyboard, I thought to myself: "I have to make something of this image..." And so I did. I don't take much credit for this since its just knowing how to use brushes and placing the pictures, but I did have an artistic block when the time came to put everything together.... Oh, and croping the image was a pain in the ass...but here is the result: Here are some older ones that I didn't upload here: (I really like this one, even if someone told me they think Dave looks Drunk in on of the pictures...) (I'll make another one of Martin Gorettes I swear...I don't like this one, the images are too low quality...) (Don't have much merite in this one either. I just scanned the tour book and pasted the two images as best as I could, I just loooove this pic) (This may look like it was easy...but I traced the rose and completly redrew it in Photoshop...it was harder than I thought...you have the traditionnal version...) (And the Electrastar was on crack version...) That's all for now, next time, I will come to you bearing animated .gifs. The last one of the "Freelove" batch.

Elecrastar, I would like to ask you how do you make these wonderful gifs you shared here? Can you please tell me which software do you use for making gifs? I so want to produce something like these goodies... martingoreisgod, I love this comic strips, since Martin looks so adorable on each pic, and the fact that apparently he is the little hero in the story. Are you a member on Youtube? I remember this name, since it's so nice and true... But of course that could have been someone else's name.

Well, first, to make an animated .gif from a video, you need software that can take screenshots. I used to take the very old version of Windows Media Player, but now, I use something called 'Virtual Dub" it's wonderful, it takes all the screenshots by itself, no more painstaking manual screenshot taking. For Virtual dub, you need to explore it a little to understand how it works, its quite easy, I figured it out, if not, i'll post an explanation. After all my screenshots are taken, I open up Photoshop and start placing each image (I'll came them frame from now on) one after the other in the proper order. Making a gif with a video is basically making an animation from individual images. Once all your images are placed in order, crop them to the size you want and open up Adobe Image Ready (which is included with Photoshop) and make your animation. Maybe some people use other methods and software, but I learned all of this in a class and I'm pretty much used to it and have become quite skilled at it, its all a question of practice.

Thank you very much for your answer! Actually I don't have any of the softwares you mentioned (expect Windows Media Player, but I have never known how to take screenshots by WMP...) Perhaps I'm going to get all those softwares some day, Photoshop is a quiet valuable software, people seem to use it very often, so now that it can also help me in gif-making I really have to get it somehow. Making a gif seems to be more difficult than I thought, but it worth it! You know, Sometimes I love to fiddle with things like this. It seems to be so interesting, that you make the gifs from individual images, it's like making a cartoon, wow, I love it! By the way, the gif where Dave's falling asleep on the table is really lovely, I wonder where is this from? Wonderful! That means there are lots of Gorettes around the world!
